AURA

Launched by the British Council, the Arts for Libya programme reflects the British Council’s belief in Building open and inclusive societies through arts and culture, where young emerging artist are empowered to develop, influence and contribute to the positive transformation of their societies, and increase the appreciation of the role that arts and culture play in the development of societies   

The Arts for Libya programme focuses on building a sustainable network for artists, developing new relationships and creating future potential for emerging Libyan artists to deliver new and contemporary art work. It also aims to create links with international audiences and UK experts within their specific field through the mentoring programme.

THE ARTISTS

The artists supported in the Arts for Libya programme are: Rawan Muntaser with Aura Exhibition; Aya Keskeso with ARRA Exhibition; Libyan Printmakers with a series of lectures workshops; Feras Alshafah with .....;Osama Alfaid with .....; Abdulrahman Altaweel with .....

The group, who include social activists, visual artists, Animation,character art, photographers, film-makers. The works are a mixture of music, photography and video art, and explore themes including community, inclusion, Identity,and voice. 

The British Council has given these artists creative freedom to generate new work that reflects their experiences. Any opinions expressed through these works are solely those of the artist.
