A group of 10 young Libyans will take part in a study tour to the UK between March 9 and March 14. The visit is the next step of the youth initiative launched last February 2014 by the British Council in Libya which hosted a two-day workshop in Tripoli. At that workshop, a group of 50 young Libyans, supported by the British Youth Council, explored options, opportunities and challenges for establishing sustainable youth participation structures in the country. The 10 participants to the UK visit will now take forward the work of the group by looking at UK experiences in relation to Libya’s plans, gaining a deeper understanding of youth participation theory and practice, developing skills in strategic planning, further exploring options for establishing sustainable youth participation structures in Libya and drafting plans for the next steps of the initiative.
